Halloween Horror Movie Countdown Day 1-2

October is here. And for Halloween, I will make an Halloween Horror Movie Countdown Reviews. Everyday from October 1st till Halloween I will make a Horror Movie review. And if the movie has sequels, I will make it a 'General' review, not much focusing on the movie itself but more on the entire franchise. Okay so for Day 1..... we will start with ''The Ring''

Day 1: The Ring (1 and 2).
The Plot: The Ring is a remake of the Japanese 'Ringu' both very popular movies, pretty much everyone knows the famous ''Crawling out of the tv screen.'' scene. Both movies follow the carachters Rachel (Naomi Watts) and her son Aidan (David Dorfman). Both movies give background on the maker of the killer tape, that if you watch the tape that the phone rings and says 'You're Going to Die in 7 Days'. Apperently it is a girl named Samara. A little girl who got killed by her own mother and got thrown in the well to rot. Ofcourse the idea is a bit overused, someone coming back from the dead wanting to take revenge. But it was the way they did it in this movie. Not so much focusing on the scare factor but more on the mystery, which was respected by many people as they didn't try to be a typical modern day horror movie. So it feels like a Thriller more then a Horror, espicially how both the movies are made. The Original kind of set the standards and the sequel went more into the details. The Sequel, Samra also tried to possess Aiden, take over his body so that she can expierence a normal childhood with a loving mother. Both movies did great in the box office. And to this day is still a major chapter in horror history.

Personal Review: I personally love both the original and sequel, I have watched them both multiple times. They were both kind of overused ideas, both the orignal's revenge plot and the sequel's possesion plot. But it's the unieke way it was written and filmed that made both movies so succesful. I love and will always love these movies!

I will give more detail when I am doing an actual review 1 by 1, which will be soon. This was more a general review, as you will see this entire month in this Post. I wont go into many details as I will spare that to the actual review. And I will also give my ratings then.

Day 2: The Last House on the Left
The Plot: The Last House on the Left was an succesful yet shocking movie from Wes Craven in 1972, it was a very succesful movie. Although this movie went to the extreme's even to this day, imagine it back in the early 70's when the Psycho genre was just barely bloosming. It was very graphic and had this documentary sort of filming to it, that made it even more creepy. In General it was one crazy movie, but a freaking good one! That will always stay in my head! The Remake, it had a different feel to it, obviously since the filming quality has approved. But you still had that weird feeling throughout the movie, which is hardly possible with these modern day horror movies. This was a good remake for a change. Many films have sucky remakes, but this one was good! The story was also a bit different, a few changes but no shocking changes, but that also wasn't possible to make it more shocking then the original. Both movies are about a girl named Mari (1972 ''Sandra Peabody''.2009 ''Sara Paxton'') They are going to a vacation house in the woods. While they are setteling in. Mari asks if she can hang out with her friend named (1972: Phyllis (Lucy Grantham)) (2009: Paige (Martha MacIsaac)) Both versions differ, but in both movies they end up going to the Motel (1972: Jr. Stillo (Marc Sheffler)) (2009: Justin (Spencer Treat Clark)) They both are different. In the orginal the criminal family of Jr. is already waiting for them. And in the 2009 remake they come there unexpectedly. In 1972 Jr. Is a bit more agressive, like you still see he isn't comfortable doing what they are doing to Mari and Phyllis. But compared to the innocnce of Justin in the remake, the 1972 Jr. seems like the bigger criminal in comparasion. So the crimnals end up doing sick shit to Mari and Phyllis (Torture, Rape and Murder.) In the original Mari dies and in the remake Mari survives. So the parents of Mari in both versions find out in a different way. The Criminals need shelter as night falls and it starts raining, so they seek shelter at the house of the parents of Mari. And after the parents find out what they did to their daughter. They slowly kill them 1 by 1. So the movie turns into a Revenge movie at this point. Both movies are different. As the Original is really shocking and uncomfturble, the Remake has a good ending. So it differs. So shockingly enough the only remake that was less shocking then the orginal.

Personal Review: I love them both! They are both masterpieces, I personally would not know which one to choose. I just really love them! The original is indeed very very shocking espcially for it's time. While the Remake gives a little bit more mercy. This Original was even banned in some contries, as a proof on to how shocking the movie actually was. I also really liked the remake because 2 of my favourite actors are featured in it (Spencer Treat Clark and Sara Paxton). This review was a bit awkward as I had to tell the story of both movies in 1 summary, but that will be different when the time comes that I will review them 1 by 1, and give a bit more detail. And my personal Rating.

Thanks for viewing my page. Tomorrow Day 3 will be up with a new movie. And tomorrow Halloween H20 will be up in my ''Halloween Franchise Review Page. So stay tuned and thanks again. :-D
