Halloween Horror Movie Countdown Review: Day 31 - Halloween Franchise

I now I am extremely late, but as you guys all know. It's school. It's always school, kindda ruining all the fun. :( But whatever. So I guess I will give the final review now.

Day 31: Halloween Franchise.

I am mixing up the Plot and Personal Revie wup this time, probably something I will do more in the future. But maybe not, still have to decidee, but thought I would try it out this one time. :-D Hope you like it.

The Plot/Personal Review: Halloween is a classic movie directed by John Carpenter. Starring big stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie. Donald Pleasance as Dr. Loomis. It also starred: Nancy Kyes as Annie. P.J. Soles as Lynda. Charles Cyphers as Sheriff Brackett. Kyle Richards as Lindsey. Brian Andrews as Tommy. Nancy Stephens as Marion. The sequels starred Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie 3 more times. Donald Pleasance as Dr. Loomis 4 more times. Nancy Stephens as Marion 2 more times. The sequels were all directed by different directors (Rick Rosenthal (2), Tommy Lee Wallace (3). Dwight H. Little (4), Dominique Othenin-Girard (5), Joe Chappelle (6), Steve Miner (7), Rick Rosenthall (8), And my favourite Director 'Rob Zombie' (R1, 2). The sequels starring: Lance Guest as Jimmy. Pamala Susan Shoop as Karen. Ana Alicia as Janet. Tom Atkins as Daniel. Stacey Nelkin as Ellie. Dan O'Herilhy as Cochran. Jonathan Terry as Starker. Danielle Harris (My top 5 favourite actresses) as Jamie. Ellie Cornell (One of my favourite actresses) as Rachel. Kathleen Kinmont as Kelly. Sasha Jenson as Brady. Wendy Foxworth as Tina. Tamara Glynn as Samantha. Matthew Walker as Spitz. Jeffrey Landman as Billy. Paul Rudd as Adult Tommy. Marianne Hagan as Kara. Kim Darby as Debra. Mariah 'O Brien as Beth. Susan Swift as Mary. J.C. Brandy as Adult Jamie. Davin Gardner as Danny. Adam Arkin as Will. Michelle Williams as Molly. Adam Hann-Byrd as Charlie. Jody Lynn O'Keefe as Sarah. LL Cool J as Ronny. Josh Hartnett as John. And believe it or not, Psycho classic Janet Leigh (one of my favourite actresses) as Norma. Bianca Kajlich as Sara. Sean Patrick Thomas as Rudy. Daisy McCrackin as Donna. Katee Sackhoff as Jen. Tyra Banks as Nora. The Remake + sequel starred: Maclom McDowell as Dr. Loomis (1,2). Brad Dourif as Sheriff Brackett. Tyler Mane as Michael Myers. Daeg Faerch as Young Michael Myers. Sheri Moon Zombie (Top 5 Favourite actresses) as Deborah. Hanna Hall as Judith. Kristina Klebe as Lynda. Scout Taylor Compton (One of my favourite actresses) as Laurie. Danielle Harris (Who was also in Halloween 4 and 5 as Jamie now plays Annie. + My Top 5 Favourite Actresses). Anglea Trimbir as Harley. Brea Grant as Mya. The plot is about a young boy (6 years old) killing his sister with a kitchen knife. 20 years later he escapes a mental asylum and makes his way back to Haddonfield to kill the last of his bloodline 'Laurie Strode'. The sequel shows more of Laurie on the same night of the original. The third installment had nothing to do with Michael Myers, so I wont go into it that much. Let's just say it's not as bad as everyone says, but it's also not the best. But it's better then Halloween Resurrection, thats for sure! The fourth insallment informs the fans that Laurie has been killed off. But that there is Jamie Llyod. The daughter of Laurie. Michael has been in a come for 10 years and then wakes up, and makes his way back to Haddonfield to kill the Last of his bloodline 'Jamie Lloyd'. The Fifth installment is again about Jamie. Very comparable to the fourth one.... besides that Jamie is a mute for some reason. But whatever on to the sixth one. The sixth one shows more backstory on the 'cult' Michael is in, and that Michael has a curse hanging over him until he kills his entire bloodline... or something like that. The story was messed up in this, and I personally don't really care about the story while watching this. I usually watch this for the kickass strobe effect. And awesome death scenes! H20, Forgets 3-4-5-6. And shows Laurie Strode 20 years from the second installment. She has a new identity, hoping to forget about Michael... until he returns. Resurrection on the other hand..... damn, so bad! It shows Michael killing Laurie in the opening scene, and then making his way back to his house in haddonfield..... where ofcourse a reality show episode is being filmed with the typical 21st century type cast. An introverted girl, who always survives. The slut, the attention hogger, the nerd, the pervert.... like it's just way to stupid and to top it off they have a lame ass ending. They should have ended it with H20. They got carried away, just to impress the younger audience.... yeah... thats how fucking desperate they were. To mess with a classic, just to satisfy brain dead, unwise little brats.... great! I don't like Resurrection at all. I respect the classics. And would choose those any day compared to the newer ones. But so in a way this is already my personal review. But now onto the remake. The remake, gave ALOT more insight on Michael's past. Some people say they should to much, some say they wanted more and some said it was perfect. i thought it was perfect. Just enough insight to get Michael and feel sympathy for him. The rest of the movie is pretty much just a remake of the original. The sequel to the remake. Alot of people hate it, but I love it. It's one of my favourite movies of all time. They showed the disturbed hallucianations that lead a psychopath to do crazy shit, which I personally respected.... and you got to see more Sheri Moon Zombie cause of it... :-D. And they show the psychological side to it, like the events of the first movie really fucked Laurie up. And shows Laurie slowly becoming psychotic because of a psycic link she has with her brother 'Michael Myers'. People often don't see this movie as it is. They always follow the herd, and say it's bad without giving it a fair chance. I watched it really for what it was, and forgot about all the negative reviews. And I loved it, it's one of my favourites and always will be. But I do have to say it's a very dark and depressing movie, that is pretty much only suited for the real horror fans. Overall I like all the movies alot beside Ressurection, or however you write it. So thanks for reading my reviews, and I will be back very soon with more horror/thriller/paranormal movies. :-D Stay tuned!

Halloween Horror Movie Countdown Reviews: Day 27-28-29-30 (Silent Hill 1,2) (Hostel Trilogy) (The Hills Have Eyes 1,2 + R1,2) (Friday the 13th Franchise)

Sorry guys. Damn school got in the way, and really blocked my way. But now that its weekend I will finish it. This post will be all the 5 days I haven't got to yet.

Day 27: Silent Hill 1 + 2

The Plot: Silent Hill is a movie directed by Christophe Gans. Starring: Radha Mitchell as Rose. Sean Bean as Christopher. Laurie Holden as Cybil. Deborah Kara Unger as Dahlia. Alice Krige as Christabella. Jodelle Ferland as Sharon/Allesa. The sequel (Silent Hill: Revelation) was directed by Michael J. Basset. (Starring Sean Bean again. Adelaide Clemens as Heather/Allessa. Kit Harrington as Vincent. Carrie Anne Moss as Claudia. Malcom McDowell as Leonard. The Plot of Silent Hill, is about a little girl, that constantly sleep walks, and always talks about a town named Silent Hill in her sleep. The Mom decides to take her there, they find out that the town is abandoned, they decide to secretley enter the foggy abandoned town. And soon find themselves stuck in a different dimension within the town. The sequel shows the little girl from the original but then as a teenager. She and her dad have been running away time after time with every new location a new identity. She starts getting her dreams again, and her dad gets kidnapped. And now it's Heather's duty to save her dad from Silent Hill.

Personal Review: I loved both of the movies, they are both creative and creepy. Espicially that scene with the nurses in the sequel, very creepy and nervewracking!! I like the original more, also the ending of the original, really was an open ending, it was a very creepy open ending. The sequel was way more focused on Silent Hill's creatures. The original was about Silent Hill and it's history. But the sequel really went all out. They are both very good movies, that I would watch anyday. :-D

Day 28: Hostel Trilogy

The Plot: Hostel is a movie directed by Eli Roth. Starring: Jay Hernandez as Paxton. Derek Richardson as Josh. Eythor Gudjonsson as Oli. Barbara Nedeljakova as Natalya. Jana Kaderabkova as Svetlana. Jennifer Lim as Kana. Jan Vlasák as Dutch Buisnessman. The Sequels were directed by Eli Roth (2) and Scott Spiegel (3). Starring: (Again Jay Hernandez as Paxton.) Lauren German as Beth. Roger Bart as Stuart. Heather Matarazzo as Lorna. Bijou Phillips as Whitney. Kip Pardue as Carter. Brian Hallisay as Scott. John Hensley as Justin. Sarah Habel as Kendra. Chris Coy as Travis. Skyler Stone as Mike. The plot of Hostel is that 3 guys on a trip through europe are lead to a hostel hotel in Slovakia. And while there, they are slowly lured and kindapped to get tortured by an illegal coorperation. Psycho's pay thousands to millions, just to be able to release their fantasies out on innocent people. So the coorperation kidnaps innocent people and puts them up to bid. The highest bidder, get's to release his wildest imaganations out on that person. By torturing them slowly. The sequel has the same standars, but this time with Girls instead of with guys. The Third one, was a bit different then the others. It's set in Las Vegas. The first 2 did great in the box office. But by Eli Roth not wanting anything to do with the series after the sequel. The Hostel series was put to rest for awhile... a little too long, cause people started forgetting. And that led for Hostel Part 3, to be a straight to dvd movie. And no theatrical release like the first two.

Personal Review: I like the movies, they are pretty sick. But it does make people aware of that their are sick people out their, that do this kind of stuff. It really does mess with you're head throughout the movie. The movies have no mercy, and don't mess around. This alongside with Saw and House of 1000 Corpses was the beggining of the Torture-Porn era. Overall I like the movies, they are kind of sick. But in a way you have respect for the makers on showing the world that the stuff that happens in this movie, can happen to anyone anywhere. It's kind of creepy and makes you think twice before doing stuff.

Day 29: The Hills Have Eyes 1+ 1 + R1 + 2

The Plot: The Hills Have Eyes is a movie directed by Horror Master Wes Craven. Starring: John Steadman as Fred. Robert Houston as Bobby. Janus Blythe as Ruby. Suze Lanier-Bramlett as Brenda. Russ Grieve as Bob. Virginia Vincent as Ethel. Dee Wallace as Lynne. Michael Berryman as Pluto. The Sequel was directed also by Wes Craven srtarring yet again Janus Blythe as Ruby. Robert Houston as Bobby. Michael Berryman as Pluto. And starring: Tamara Stafford as Cass. Kevin Spirtas as Roy. Colleen Riley as Jane. Penny Johnson as Sue. John Laughlin as Hulk. Willard Pugh as Foster. The 2006 Remake was directed by Alexandre Aja. Starring: Aaron Stanford as Doug. Kathleen Quinlan as Ethel. Vinessa Shaw as Lynn. Emilie de Ravin as Brenda. Dan Byrd as Bobby. The Sequel to the Remake was Directed by Martin Weisz. Starring: Philip Pavel as Foster. Lee Thompson Young as Delmar. Daniella Alonso (One of my favourite actresses) as Missy. Jessica Stroup (In my 3 All Time favourite actresses) as Amber. The plot in the original movie is about a family on their way to California for a vaction, but soon find themselves stranded in the middle of the dessert. Having no idea that they ar ebeing watched by the hills. The sequel continues the story of the original survivors, with some new people in it on their way to a Dirt Bike race, but they also find them selves stranded in the desert... Yeah it's pretty much the same story. The Remake is pretty much a shot by shot remake until the last quarter of the movie, then it goes more into a gore direction. With alot of blood. Similair to Evil Dead having more blood then the original Evil Dead.... alot more blood. The sequel to the remake, wasn't like dby many. This time it was about national guard trainees in the hills.

Personal Review: The Original + The Remake, were good. I liked them both alot. But the sequels were weak. And the carachters were one dimensional (Besides Jessica Stroup <3) But they just felt weak, like not mucht thinking went into changing it around which was a bummer. But I would watch them again anyday. They are all good.

Day 30: Friday the 13th Franchise.

The Plot: Friday the 13th is a movie directed by Sean S. Cunningham. Starring: Betsy Palmer as Pamela. Adrienne King (Also stars in the sequel) as Alice. Robbi Morgan as Annie. Kevin Bacon as Jack. Laurie Bartram (R.I.P) as Brenda. The sequels were directed by different directors such as (Steve Miner (2,3). Joseph Zito (4). Danny Steinmann (5). Tom McLoughlin (6). John Carl Buechler (7). Rob Hedden (8). Adam Marcus (9). James Isaac (10). Ronny Yu (11). Marcus Nispel (Remake). Starring: Amy Steel (One of my favourite actresses) as Ginny. John Furey as Paul. Lauren Marie Taylor as Vickie. Dana Kimmel as Chris. Paul Kratka as Rick. Tracie Savage as Debbie. Jeffrey Rogers as Andy. Catherine Park as Vera. Larry Zerner as Shelly. Kimberly Beck as Trish. Peter Barton as Doug. Corey Feldman as Tommy. Melanie Kinnamin as Pam. John Shepherd as (Adult Tommy). Shavar Ross as Reggie. Richard Young as Matthew. Juliette Cummins (One of my favourite actresses). Tiffany Helm (One of my favourite actresses) as Violet <3. Thom Matthews (Replacement Tommy). Jennifer Cooke as Megan. David Kegan as Michael. Susan Blu as Amanda. Lar Park Lincoln as Tina. Terry Kiser as Crews. Kevin Spirtas as Nick. Susan Jennifer Sullivan as Melissa. Diana Burrows (One of my favourite actresses) as Maddy. Todd Caldecott as Jim. Tiffany Paulsen as Suzi. Jensen Daggett as Rennie. John D. LeMay as Steven. Kari Keegan. Lexa Doig as Rowan. David Cronenberg as Dr Wimmer. Monica Kenna as Lori. Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger. Ken Kizinger as Jason. Jason Ritter as Will. Kelly Rowland as Kia. Chris Marquette as Charlie. Brendan Fletcher as Mark. Katherine Isabella (One of my favourite actresses) as Gibb. Jared Padalecki (One of my favourite actors) as Clay. Danielle Panabaker as Jenna. Amanda Righetti as Whitney. Travis Van Winkle as Trent. Aaron Yoo as Chewie. Arlen Escarpeta as Lawrence. Ben Feldman as Richie. Julianna Guill as Bree. The Original Friday the 13th is about a group of camp counselers being stalked by a mysterious killer. Who ends up being the mom of a little boy who drowned in the lake many years before wanting revenge on the camp counselers for not paying attention while her son was drowning. The sequel is about the little boy Jason (Who is now grown up) actually didn't die in the lake. And he comes back for unfinished buisness from his mother. The Third Installment introduces the audience to the iconic hockey mask. The Fourth Installment was a bit more creative and thought out then 2 and 3. It was very much liked by pretty much everyone who seen it, this was also the movie that introduced us to Tommy Jarvis. The Fifth Installment continues the story of Tommy Jarvis, but this time in a halfway house still traumatized by Jason. The movie had mix feelings, as the killer wasn't Jason, but a copycat killer. The Motive was understandable, and not just out of the blue which is a + point. But I think what many people didn't like was that their was no Jason. I personally didn't mind, I thought it was creative and a nice twist. But the sixth installment continues Tommy's story. And Jason get's brought back to life... Alot of people were happy about that. It was the begininning of Zombie Jason. The Seventh Installment is about a girl with telekenisis powers fighting Jason. Many people call it Jason vs Carrie. The Eighth Installment, took Jason to Manhattan.... well on a boat mostly, but whatever. The Ninth Installment is about Jason possessing people to do his dirty work. The Tenth Installment: Jason X..... It's in space, thats all you need to know, it sucks! The Eleventh installment is Freddy vs Jason. This movie was very much loved by horror fans. The 2 Greatest Horror Icons battling it out. Who wouldn't like that. And the Remake was a remake of 1-4 As it started the movie with Jason's Mother, and the first quarter of the movie it showed jason with a Sack over his head, just like in Part 2. And later on fidning the Hockey Mask, like in Part 3. And showing the guy who is trying to find his missing sister. Like the fourth one. So it was creative. I personally loved it. The Box Office was great for all the movies. Not one movie was straight to video/dvd. Which proves that there is still plenty of Jason to come.

Personal Review: I love the first one the most. I love 2-3-4-5. They are very good. 6-7-8-9-10 I don't really like. I just find it extremely fake, unbelievable. and it sidetracks from what the normal Jason actually is. The Freddy vs Jason idea was great. I love that movie and always will. The Remake was also very very good. The sex scene was a bit over the top and not very needed. But whatever, I would have liked to see more of Jason's mother. But everybody wanted to see the iconic Jason, and not his mother. So the decided to just remake 2-3-4 in the process to satisfy the audience. And they sure did that. It was great. I like almost all the movies. I always skip 9 and 10, I can't remember the last time I watched those 2, they were that horrible! But the other 10 I love them all and would watch them anyday!!

I know I am a bit late, and I am sorry for that! Damn school never gives me a break. But I will have Day 31 up very soon. Most likely tomorrow, and if not tomorrow then the next day. Thanks for visiting my page. :-D
